Hey, just wanted to comment on your gallery after finding your AMAZING shot "Why... He Asks," which is still my favorite, though I also love "I Said, You Don't Want to Know." In fact, I love that entire series. Hell, I'm floored by your entire gallery! Really, this is amazing stuff. I am so impressed with your ability to convey your emotion and inner feelings through photographing yourself (sorry I didn't know it was you when I orignially commented). This is something I really wish I could do, as it seems you can really find meaning in this way. (and I love your expressions and poses, by the way) I like your photographs of your nephew as well, and I would love to see you looking into doing more portraits. I think with your talent and eye you could produce some amazing stuff! Of course, I'm sure you will take some great shots no matter what. Keep up the GREAT work, and I will definitely be watching you! :+devwatch:

*Floored* That was without a doubt the most amazing comment anybody has ever left me on here. I'm absolutely speechless.......wow. Thank you so much for your kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In all honesty, I've been considering and reconsidering no longer using myself as a subject. Yes, it's easier to get the desired emotions by simply doing it myself, but I also fear that the repetitive use of myself as the subject might get misconstrued as self-absorption, which I don't want at all because I feel like that would be the ultimate failure for my piece. Comments such as yours revitalize my faith that people do actually feel something - take something away, when they see one of my photos. That's definitely a source of inspiration. As far as bringing meaning to portraits like you mentioned...that's not an innate ability. If a person is really avid about trying to perfect their skills, then bringing meaning to a portrait is very much so possible. I've produced some real garbage before, and continue to, to this day. I suppose, it's all about how much effort you put into getting better at what it is you're doing. You, yourself have a great eye for spotting quirks which is probably 50% of the work, the other 50% is simply presenting those quirks in an effectively new way. Thank you, again!!! I will most definitely be looking after you as well!
thanx 4 adding me 2 ur friends!!!!

i will do the same!!!!
